Call for State Representatives began October, 2006.

Interested in becoming or nominating someone from your state to represent Independent Liberal Art Institutions in AILACTE? Please contact your Regional Representative as listed above.

AILACTE is working to involve member institutions in discussions regarding state issues impacting teacher educator preparation programs. The position involves the following responsibilities:

  • Provide information to AILACTE regarding contact information for private/independent institutions in their state
  • Provide feedback to AILACTE regarding issues facing the private/independent institutions in their state
  • Recruit new members in their state
  • Maintain communication with the Regional Representative
  • Attend the AILACTE Annual Meeting [or send a designee] and participate in the State Representatives Forum

If you accept this invitation, you will receive a reduced registration fee for the annual meeting. The AILACTE Executive Committee views the position of State Representatives as a way to become involved in AILACTE and to allow state member and potential member institutions' voices to be heard as a part of a larger nationally unified organization. As AILACTE institutions with teacher preparation programs, we must be in a position to be sitting at the table with the policy makers and the larger national organizations participating in the gathering instead of being on the menu. . -From South Region Representative, Mark Hogan
