STATEMENT TO THE COMMISSION ON NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND (NCLB)
ON BEHALF OF AACTE: OCTOBER 10, 2006
"AACTE is pleased to have this opportunity to make recommendations
to the Commission regarding the implementation of No Child Left Behind.
Our testimony focuses on aspects of the statute concerning high quality
teachers and the alignment of Title II of NCLB with Title II of the
Higher Education Act. We present below seven recommendations for changing
NCLB. We first describe each issue; then we follow it with a brief
discussion of our recommendation."- AACTE
