AILACTE Graduate Student Scholar Award It is our pleasure to announce the 2011 recipient of the AILACTE Graduate Student Scholar Award: Kenneth Whaley from Mercer University (left). Kenneth's award will be presented at the February 24, 2011 Annual Meeting and Extended Conference in San Diego, CA. Congratulations Kenneth!
--- Application Procedures AILACTE is pleased to announce that we are seeking outstanding graduate student scholars to apply for the AILACTE Graduate Student Scholars Award. Recipients must be enrolled, at least half time as a graduate student in an AILACTE member school. The award is for the 2010-2011 academic year; it is expected that the recipient will disseminate the outcomes of the research project in several ways, including in written form. The $1000 award is designed to enhance the professional development of the recipient and can be used for professional travel, support for professional work or research. Again, we particularly seek research, new or already underway, that demonstrates addresses aspects of the AILACTE Mission. We also continue to encourage research on the Qualities of Excellence (Liberal Arts, Moral Dimensions, Partnerships, and Global/Inclusivity). Qualifications: Applicants must be enrolled as a graduate, at least one half- time, at an AILACTE member institution. Applicants also need to demonstrate a desire to be involved in working on issues related to the unique mission of the association, to present a summary of the project in an AILACTE publication, to make a presentation at an AILACTE meeting, and submit the research as an article to an appropriate refereed journal. When an award is made, the recipient will be asked to submit a statement The award recipient is invited to attend the AILACTE Annual Meeting. Recipients will be awarded up to $500 for travel expenses to the February 2011 AILACTE Annual Meeting in San Diego, California. The AILACTE Graduate Student Scholar Award Rubric is available for your perusal prior to submitting your application at the AILACTE website. Applications needed to be postmarked on or before December 31, 2010 and sent to: Mark A. Hogan Recipients will be notified of their selection by January 10, 2011.
